Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using Recito ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service is operated by SonetCraft ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and SonetCraft.

Recito is an AI-powered text-to-speech application that converts documents — including PDFs, EPUBs, DOCX files, web articles, and scanned pages — into spoken audio using artificial intelligence. The Service includes:

• Document import, parsing, and storage
• AI narration with a customizable cast of voices
• Cross-device library sync and reading progress
• Integration with third-party cloud storage (Google Drive, Dropbox)

Features may change over time. We reserve the right to add, modify, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

You must create an account to use most features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it current. You may not create accounts on behalf of others without their permission, or use another person's account.

Your Recito account is your identity across all Recito platforms — mobile, web, and browser extension. Your subscription, library, and settings are account-based and apply on all devices where you are signed in.

Plans

Recito offers the following paid subscription plans, billed through the Apple App Store:

Auto-renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time through your Apple ID Account Settings or the iOS Subscriptions page.

Free tier

Recito includes a free tier offering 1 hour of premium AI audio per month and unlimited device-voice playback. Free tier features are subject to change.

AI usage quotas

Premium AI audio (Fish Audio voices, full-cast narration) is subject to a fair-use budget based on your plan. Usage is account-level — the same budget applies whether you listen on the mobile app, web, or browser extension. We meter real AI cost, not time; cheaper content (on-device voice) does not count toward the budget. Details of the current budget are available in the app.

Refunds

All purchases are made through the Apple App Store. Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their standard refund policy. We do not issue independent refunds for App Store purchases. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Upload content you do not own or have the right to use
• Distribute, resell, or sublicense AI-generated audio to third parties
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract our AI models or proprietary systems
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
• Upload illegal content or content that violates third-party rights
• Use the Service in ways that could damage, disable, or impair it

Recito is for personal, non-commercial use unless you have obtained a commercial license. You may listen to content you legally own or have the right to access.

Your content

You retain full ownership of the documents and files you upload to Recito. By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process and store it solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not claim ownership of your content and we do not use your documents to train AI models.

Our content

The Recito application, design, trademarks, and all generated AI audio (voices, direction, cover art) created by our systems remain the property of SonetCraft or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute our intellectual property.

Copyright compliance

You are responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to use and listen to any content you import. We are not responsible for copyright infringement by users. If you believe your copyrighted work has been infringed, contact us at [email protected].

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. AI-generated narration may contain errors or mispronunciations — we do not guarantee accuracy.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SONETCRAFT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without prior notice depending on the severity of the violation.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including IP rights, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will survive.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which SonetCraft is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of that jurisdiction.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 7 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
